Yeah, I'm playing catch-up with my 30 Day Fanfic Meme yet again. I know, I'm doing a great job of keeping up, aren't I? Oh well, it's Days 9-11.

9) Pairings – For each of the fandoms from day two, what are your three favourite pairings to write?
Since I'm just sticking with Smallville, I will say my three favorite pairings to write are Clark/Oliver (OTP), Clark/Lois (het OTP), and Lois/Tess. Clark/Oliver wins hands down, though once Clois became canon, even they were harder to write, but I still get excited when I have a plot bunny for them and my muses work out. There is an extreme lack of Lois/Tess so I love writing them just so that there will be more fics of this awesome ship. And of course my love for Clois is neverending. They're a little intimidating since there are such good fics out but I like writing them anyway.

10) Pairings – Have you ever gone outside your comfort zone and written a pairing you liked, but found you couldn't write, or a pairing you didn't like, and found you could?
I did the first for Rory/Jess. I always loved them but I couldn't write them because I was worried I'd screw up the voices, especially Jess's. I'm not so good at writing banter and sarcasm, both which are required when it comes to R/J. But somehow I got it done and I think it turned out all right.

11) Genre – do you prefer certain genres of fic when you're writing? What kind do you tend to write most?
Yes, definitely. I like to write romance/drama fics. In fact, I think most of my fics fall into that genre. The majority of my stories are fluffy fics with a bit of angst thrown in but generally happy endings.

days 6-8

Yeah, I fell behind on my 30 Day Fanfic Meme again. Oh well. Here's days 6-8.

6) When you write, do you prefer writing male or female characters?
Probably female characters. They're easier for me to identify with and my fandoms have such awesome female characters that I can't help but love them and want to add them in, even if they're not a main character. When it comes to male characters, I always worry that I am making them too sappy, especially in slash fics. It is one of those things that I'm still working on.

7) Have you ever had a fic change your opinion of a character?
Maybe? I always feel better about Lana when I write her in a positive light. Granted I haven't done that too many times- I can probably count it on one hand really- but it still helps.

8) Do you write OCs? And if so, what do you do to make certain they're not Mary Sues, and if not, explain your thoughts on OCs.
Not really. They only play filler roles in my fics. Stories that feature an OC too prominently generally doesn't interest me (especially if they're paired off with one of the main characters. Kids are okay though) so I don't tend to write them either. I don't know if they end up as Mary Sues honestly. They don't stick around long enough to turn into Mary Sues so I'll go with no.

Day 5 of my 30 Day Fanfic Meme! :D

5) If you have ever had a character try to push their way into a fic, whether your "muse" or not, what did you do about it?
It depends on how loud they are and how badly I want my story to go a certain way. If it's a fic that I'm willing to be flexible on, I wll probably work around that character. However, if I really don't want them to dominate or take up a bigger place than they already do, I'll just go with my current plot (or try to) and then wonder the "what if's" later. I tend to do that with my own fics. I can't help it- I do it with books movies, TV shows ... even other people's fanfics when I'm waiting for an update. I guess that's the downside of having an overactive imagination. :)

days 3 & 4

Okay, I missed yesterday so I'm posting days 3 & 4 of my 30 Day Fanfic Meme together.

3) For each of the fandoms from day two, what were your favorite characters to write?
I'll just go with Smallville, since that's the only one where I've written multiple fics, and my favorite character to write is Clark. I think it's because I think about him so much that I find it easier to work from his POV. I see the whole show in his POV and when I write fic, the same thing happens. The show left a lot to be desired when it came to Clark's feelings, especially in s6 & 7 and that's when I first started writing fics, in that time frame. That's why I easily could fill in the blanks through fanfic.

4) Do you have a "muse" character, that speaks to you more than others, or that tries to push their way in, even when the fic isn't about them? Who are they, and why did that character became your muse?
That would probably be Chloe or later on, Lois. I think it's because while I have ships, I really appreciate friendships even more and I loved the one between Chloe and Clark, mostly in s4-6. And of course, I like the friendships between Lois and almost everyone, whether that's Chloe or Clark or Oliver. I see them both as strong characters who would help their friends. Plus, they're usually the ones (other than Oliver) who bring in the snark and the common sense. Clark's a smart guy but he can be overly cautious, especially in my fics, and these two, when they're not the star of the story, are very helpful in pushing him along (and/or threatening others who might hurt him).

day 2

It's Day 2 of my fanfic meme.

Day 2: Name the fandoms you've written in, and how much you've written in that fandom, and if you still write in it.

I mostly write Smallville fic and I don't think I can count how many stories I've written. Some are pretty short, through memes and others are longer. Well over 100 though. I still write in the fandom, though my muses are a little quiet at the current moment.

I've also written 1 OTH fics and 2 Gilmore Girls fic (though I can only find one of them). The OTH fic was a one time thing and I'm willing to write GG again, if I get a good plot idea. Like I said, I mainly write SV. I would love to branch out, but it's easier said that done. :)

It's been a while since I've done one of these. Let's hope I actually finish this one. I snagged it from [personal profile] scrollgirl.

1) How did you first get into writing fanfic, and what was the first fandom you wrote for? What do you think it was about that fandom that pulled you in?

I started writing fanfic because of the two guys in my current icon. I'd been reading fanfic for years but it was Smallville, more specially Clark/Oliver that prompted me to write my first fic. It was mostly because of the lack of fic for this pairing that prompted me to write my own. I seriously fell in love with Clark/Oliver in the very beginning ... by the end of 6.04 'Arrow', I was sold. But after every episode, when I googled for fics, I couldn't find much. In fact, I found LJ through a google search ... [community profile] ollieville to be specific. I created an account so I could join and days later, I was writing fic.

I had read slash but I had to overcome a serious mental block to not only write fic, but to write Clark/Oliver. I love to write and come up with a lot of ideas but I'm a lazy person. If there is a lot of fic for a certain pair, I won't write it unless I'm really inspired. I'd rather read fic. When it came to Clark/Ollie, I knew that if there was to be more fic, I'd have to write it myself. So I did. And I haven't looked back.
