svgurlOkay, I forgot about this meme again but fortunately it was just yesterday so I only have two days. Here's Days 7 & 8 of my 30 Day Female Character Meme. :)
Day Seven: A female character that needs more screen time
It's crazy: if this was two years ago, I could've said 'Lois'. I'm really happy that I can't do that now. However, this was tough to figure out for me but I finally grasped and figured out a character: Gaila (Star Trek XI).
I know, random, but I really liked her character in the movie. She was cute and I love how comfortable she is with her sexuality. I also liked her friendship with Uhura. I kind of wish we found out what happened to her after everyone got on the ships. If we did, I don't remember. Her disappearance was a bit sad. The reboot movie didn't have very many female characters in general, which was a shame. I get that it's mainly Kirk and Spock's story and I'm fine with that but it's really unbalanced.
Day Eight: Favorite female character in a comedy show
Another toughie but I finally settled on Monica Geller (Friends).
I love Monica. She's a fierce HBIC. Though she can be crazy, bossy, and is insane about cleanliness and organization, she's also snarky and vulnerable and has so many layers that it's impossible not to love her. I love how ambitious she is, but at the same time, she still yearned for love and a happy ending. I'm glad she got it. Of course, all the main female characters on Friends are awesome- for some reason, I just love Monica best.
