Yeah, that's a good point. I was just more thinking of their culture, etc. And yeah, I was hoping to make them seem like a technologically advanced race but still having good friendship/family bonds. Of course there will be some people who don't like humans (for conflict's sake) but nothing other than that.
I don't know if you've ever seen the Bruce Timm Superman cartoon, but I love his version of Jor-El and Lara. They're "my" House of El. (Which is why the Fortress on SV is so frustrating.) I don't think so? I saw some Superman cartoon when I was younger but I am not sure which one. And honestly, the Fortress is frustrating period. It's manipulative, emotionally and sometimes physically abusive. I didn't blame Clark one bit for not trust it. I hoping it would redeem itself but it kept annoying me. At least it was okay in the finale but I wanted to see that a lot earlier. :\
