It wasn’t as if they hadn’t talked about marriage or the concept of it, during the course of the two years they had been dating, enough to realize they were on the same page on the topic- that the relationship they were in was built for the long term and they were both in favor of the concept, when the time was right. A "yes" was pretty much guaranteed to the person who got there first.

So the marriage wouldn't be a surprise; the proposal, however, was something that Bucky would like to do in style.

It was the least of what Sam deserved after all.
