Smallville:

Fandom DNW: Arrowverse characters/fanon ships, 'crisis on infinite earths' (good with clark and lois having daughters, not with him having permanently given up his powers), Chloe-centric fics (I had mild issues with the character starting in s8 and I'm not really that comfortable after what the actress did)

Other Ships I like (if you need background): Martha/Jonathan, Lois/Kara, Kara/Jimmy, Kara/Lana, Kara/Chloe, Oliver/Dinah, Oliver/Chloe, Chloe/Victor, Chloe/George Dean (guy she was with in Apocalypse AU), Chloe/Lana, Chloe/Bart, Bart/Mia, AC/Mera, Lex/Lana (as long as he doesn't go evil), Lana/Jason (again, as long as he doesn't go evil), Tess/Emil

Gen/Friendships: any combo of the SV Justice League, Clark & Martha & Jonathan, Clark & Kara, Clark & Lana, Clark & Lois, Clark & Oliver, Clark & Lex, Clark & Tess, Lois & Lana, Lois & Martha

Clark Kent/Lois Lane: A canon OTP for me. I really loved other version of Clois but this one is my favorite. I fell for them immediately and I absolutely loved their frenemies to lovers journey- their banter was fun, but I also enjoyed the way they got close immediately, in between Clark being there for Lois after her sister left again (and later with even with some of the guys she dated- he definitely came off as jealous of AC) and Lois stopping Clark from murdering Alicia's killer- they were really strong friends and their journey to realizing how they felt was lovely. They definitely flirted (see: dunk tank scene) and suppressed some feelings over the years, but when they were finally on the same page and got together, it was well worth the wait. He really lets her in and fights for her and she makes him laugh and loves all sides of Clark. In the end, they just love each other for all that they are, flaws and all. I only ask that you don't make Lana the villain should you go this route. I am not a fan of Clana but I also think she would be supportive and not derail them.

Prompts:
1. Lois's first interview with Superman and the ensuing article
2. articles Lois has written about Superman over the years
3. Lois and Clark texting each other while they are apart

Clark Kent/Lois Lane/Oliver Queen: They're my OT3. I really liked the dynamic between not only the individual relationships, but the three of them together, even if we didn't get those scenes as much as I would've liked. I think they all have stuff in common with one another but also are different in ways to balance each other out. I'm good with two of them being together and adding the third or all three getting together at the same time.

Prompts:
1. rumors about the three of them in the tabloids over the years
2. different first meeting: established reporters Lois & Clark are assigned to interview Oliver
3. soulmate AU where they each have two marks and use social media to find each other

Clark Kent/Oliver Queen: My fanon OTP. I really fell for them out of the blue in s6. I really like the way that their friendship developed and how Clark always believed in Ollie, even when Oliver didn't believe in himself, and how Oliver secretly looked up to Clark. It was tough watching them have their ups and downs, but I felt like they came out of it stronger. If you do go this route though, I would prefer Clark and Lois never having been together- feel free to hand wave if it is set in the later seasons, because I don't want them to have broken up or for Lois to have her heart broken, since I love Clois/Lois.

Prompts:
1. text message/email to a wrong account (or maybe there is some sort of pen pal program?) starts an online friendship years before they actually meet
2. they're in a secret relationship and now Clark has to interview Oliver/write a story about him
3. Clark secretly writes novels and some of them star a familiar archer as the love interest

Lana Lang/Tess Mercer: My rarest ship! I just always thought Tess had better chemistry with the women and Lana wasn't an exception. They sold me on the few scenes they had in s8 and I just fell in love with the potential.

Prompts:
1. they strike up a friendship and keep in touch via emails/texts
2.

Lois Lane/Lana Lang: They had their own little meet cute at the graveyard. I liked how they were friends right away and how Lois took to Lana immediately. They clearly get along very well and they had some good chemistry to which I can see them being a couple. Lois respects Lana and has listed her virtues to even Clark and Lana called Lois a good listener. I haven't read the s11 comics but it seems they had some good scenes there and Lana even gave Lois (and Clark) her blessing. On that note, please don't make Clark the villain or have them hook up because one or both are pining over him.

Prompts:
1. Lana keeps her powers (but not the Kryptonite absorption) and she saves Lois's life, who is promptly intrigued by the new mysterious hero in town (whether she knows it is Lana or not and you want to go for the 'triangle for two' except it's Lana is up to you)
2. Lois keeps in touch with Lana via emails too after she leaves in s4

Lois Lane/Oliver Queen: I didn't intend to like them as much as I did, but they had the cutest first meeting and then they really won me over during the course of the season. Both their breakups were very hard to watch, and I really appreciated their friendship in s9/10. I like how they can banter and are really hot; they are two people who really understand each other and in a different world, I think they could've worked out.

1. Luthor AU: how they met and how they navigate life while Lois fights for her stories in a corrupt industry
2. they try the long distance relationship in s7 - phone calls, text messages, Lois writing articles about Green Arrow's adventures
3. Lois sends Oliver drunk texts

Lois Lane/Tess Mercer: I don't think I've fallen for a ship as quickly as I did for these two. They had such chemistry right off the bat (I really had an "OH" moment during their first scene in 'Odyssey') and it never faded. I loved them when they were at each other's throats and also loved how they became friends/trusted each other in s10. They're both strong willed, determined and they want to do what it is right- Lois is a little more brash while Tess is more calculated but at the end of the day, they ended up on the same side. I like fic set during any of those time periods, preferably AUs where Clois never got together if it is in the later seasons.

Prompts:
1. one of them is the other's secret admirer
2. they meet before Tess ends up on the island and once she does, Tess writes Lois a bunch of letters that she doesn't send

Gilmore Girls:

Other Ships I like (for background): Paris/Doyle, Paris/Jamie, Sookie/Jackson, Richard/Emily. I'm also fine with Lane/Zach if you want to set it in the later seasons

Friendships/Gen: Rory & Lorelai, Rory & Lane, Rory & Paris, Paris & Jess, Jess & Lane, Luke & Jess

Lane Kim/Dave Rygalski: I really loved these two together. Lane is one of my favorite characters- she's funny, daring and loyal- and Dave was such a good guy. The way he was willing to deal with the secrecy even when it was complicated for them to see each other and read the whole Bible just to figure out what Mrs Kim meant was so great. I know they didn't work out because Adam Brody left to go on the OC but I wish it had. They seemed to really make each other happy.

Prompts:
1. they meet in a chat room about music
2. ways they kept in touch when Dave went to California - maybe they send each other messages via recommending songs
3. Lane needs a cohost for a podcast she is starting and Dave answers the ad

Luke Danes/Lorelai Gilmore: One of my favorite friends to lovers ships. I really liked how they bantered and were there for each other, even in s7 when they were broken up. Plus there were tons of 'almost' moments and signs of feelings before they were able to admit it. And denial was another fun aspect of this ship too! Another slow burn ship that was worth the wait, because their first kiss was one of my favorite moments. I hated how they had so many communication issues later on, but I was happy they ended up together.

Prompts:
1. AU where they meet as teens/become penpals and keep it a secret because Richard and Emily would disapprove
2. texts and letters they never sent while broken up

Paris Geller/Rory Gilmore: My favorite rivals to friends (to lovers) ship! Paris is a great character and I love her dynamics with Rory. Rory was so patient with her in the early seasons- she was able to stand up to Paris when necessary but also was open to listening her to and being there for her when she needed a shoulder. That Chilton dynamic was fun but I also loved how it resulted in them being such good friends and their dynamic even in the Revival was so solid, which was great.

Prompts:
1. Paris supporting Rory during her pregnancy post Revival; maybe she sends articles or self help books
2. texting and video calls after they graduate to keep in touch

Rory Gilmore/Jess Mariano: These two are one of my favorite ships. Some people like to read but for Rory and Jess, it is more than that, which is why their shared passion is so important. They found a connection with someone else who understood them. Sure, Jess was surly and closed off, but he was a teenager who had been neglected by his mom and didn't really have a reason to trust anyone. I like that Rory fell despite herself but she also was able to call him out, at when they were friends. And Jess had moments of softness toward her too. When they were good, they were great, and I wish we could've seen more of them actually dating rather than it being alluded to. And I love that Jess grew up, partially inspired by Rory but not just because of her (love his relationship with Luke). Grown up Jess in s6 was a treat and I do like to pretend they found their way back to one another. like anything set pre canon, during canon, canon divergences, AU after the s7 finale, complete AUs or compliant with the Revival. Not picky in that department.

Prompts:
1. Jess tells her the truth about failing/being kicked out and they try a long distance relationship (I do think Jess would need to leave Stars Hollow to grow but how you deal is up to you if you like this prompt
2.they run into each other post finale while Rory is on her campaign tour and begin to keep in touch
3. Rory is assigned to interview Jess about his new book (or an AU where that is how they first meet)

DCEU:

Friendships/Gen: any combo of the Justice League, Lois & Diana, Clark & Steve, Lois & Steve

Arthur Curry/Mera: I liked them in the Aquaman movie, how they went from mistrusting each other to falling in love. It was a sweet journey to watch and I enjoyed them as a whole.

Prompts:
1. how they keep in touch when he is on land
2. AU where they're childhood friends
3. arranged marriage AU, where Atlanna gets to stay with her family in exchange for Arthur being engaged to Mera; neither of them likes it

Barry Allen/Iris West: I thought they were really cute in the Justice League Snyder Cut. I loved their meet cute and I really like Barry in general and I am really eager to find out more about DCEU Iris.

Prompts:
1. reporter!Iris writing stories/investigating The Flash
2. Barry has a food blog

Clark Kent/Lois Lane: They had such a sweet and mature relationship. I liked how Lois figured him out and how her belief in him was so important to Clark. I didn't watch BvS but the scene where Clark tells Lois that this is is her world and emphasizes how she is his world gets to me, as did all their reunion scenes in ZS Justice League. I appreciate that they're about to have a baby too! That's exciting! They're both kind, strong people who want to fight for what is right, no matter what it takes and it is no surprise that they're drawn to one another.

Prompts:
1. First interview with Superman after the chaos with Zod or after he returns from the dead
2. stories Lois and Clark write over the years
3. how does social media react to Superman- does he need to have a Twitter/IG/FB account?

Diana Prince/Steve Trevor: I loved them in the Wonder Woman movie and him dying was heartbreaking. They were just amazing- I love how Diana takes a chance on Steve and Steve's willingness to do whatever it takes in general. They both have this strong sense of self and the need to fight for justice. Steve never felt smaller over Diana's strength and power and Diana appreciated how he could stand his ground and his own moral core. Plus they had excellent chemistry. I was happy to see Steve back in WW84 but I hated how they brought him back- felt very uncomfortable with the way they had him take over some guy's body, but I still want them to find their happy ending.

Prompts:
1. articles written about Diana over the years
2. Steve is back in the present day and someone notices the resemblance to an old photo; cue the conspiracy theories

MCU:

fandom dnw: Steve/Steve's Endgame ending bashed (I'm fine with ignoring it completely), rehash over CW argument with extreme bias toward one side (I'm Team Cap but I don't want to go over it again)

Other Ships I Like (for background): Tony/Pepper, Natasha/Clint, Natasha/Darcy, Natasha/Sharon, Natasha/Peggy, Natasha/Maria, Natasha/Rhodey, Clint/Coulson, Clint/Laura, Thor/Sif, Bruce/Betty, Peggy/Angie, T'Challa/Nakia, T'Challa/Sam, Sam/Rhodey, Sam/Erik Killmonger, Carol/Rhodey, Nebula/Rhodey, Bucky/Darcy

Gen/Friendships: anything that's listed in the ship section, Steve & Sam, Steve & Natasha, any combo of the Avengers, Tony & Rhodey, Jane & Darcy

James "Bucky" Barnes & Steve Rogers: While I don't ship them, I do like their friendship. They clearly had a very strong bond and I totally get why Steve didn't want to tell Tony the truth about his parents to protect Bucky.

Prompts:
1. letters they wrote each other when Bucky was away at war
2. letters Bucky didn't send to Steve after TWS/thoughts he scribbled in his journal

James "Bucky" Barnes/Sam Wilson: I liked the idea of them when I noticed how much chemistry Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan had during their TWS press tour, but I think I really fell for them during CACW. I just love frenemies to lovers/bickering friends and they gave it to me in spades, especially the scene in the car and the "I hate you". The fact we got to move from that to the soft look Bucky gave Sam in Endgame was such a treat and everything that developed during TFATWS was even better. Never imagined I could get this much content for them. Bucky has been through so much and I love that Sam just doesn't treat him with kid gloves. They have this special bond and I love it a lot. Sam's one of my overall favorite characters- I loved him immediately in TWS and he is just the best. The way he is brave and fights for what he believes and is such a good friend are some of his (many) great traits. Plus he is good at cutting through the BS, which is why he didn't tolerate Rumlow's monologue or even Zemo's attempts at manipulation. I like the what ifs after TWS to anything set during or after TFATWS. Complete AUs are fun too.

Prompts:
1. Social media's take on their relationship
2. Bucky matches with Sam on a dating app but they don't know it is the other one

James "Bucky" Barnes/Natasha Romanov: I haven't read the comics but I think the potential of these two is intriguing. They both have darkish pasts that they struggle to go past and want to make the right choices. Both have a dry sense of humor and I feel like Natasha would enjoy teasing Bucky the way she does Steve. Natasha has said to have lost to the Winter Soldier multiple times so they have clashed in the past and I definitely would've been interested in seeing more of them together in the MCU.

Prompts:
1. Natasha helps Bucky set up a dating profile
2. Red Room AU; Natasha has kept old mementos of Bucky and he finds them

Jane Foster/Thor: I thought they were very sweet in the first Thor movie and even in a few scenes in TDW. I wished we could've seen them bond more over science and tech and I think the deleted scene in TDW really showed a mature reasoning on why they couldn't be together. I like that there is a mutual respect and would like them to be on an equal level.

Prompts:
1. AU where Thor find a way to send messages to Jane in between Thor (2011) and TDW
2. They run into each other in between IW and Endgame (maybe she wasn't snapped) and they start to keep in touch

Natasha Romanov/Sam Wilson: I really liked these two during TWS. I thought they had good chemistry and I feel like their personalities mesh. They both have a sense of humor, have strong values and are very loyal and brave. It is one of the couples I really could've seen working in canon. Sam's one of my favorites- he's kind but no nonsense and has the attitude that Natasha would appreciate.

Prompts:
1. they start keeping in touch to track Bucky but then they really begin to get along

Peggy Carter/Steve Rogers: I really loved them in TFA- the way Steve was amused at Peggy immediately and Peggy being interested in pre-serum Steve just won me over. Tons of UST. This is the ship I truly didn't think I would see together again, even though I appreciated all the moments of Steve loving Peggy in the present day and Peggy still loving Steve in Agent Carter so for them to get their dance and a happy ending in one timeline made me really happy.

Prompts:
1. letters they wrote to each other during the war
2. how they keep his return secret post Endgame; hiding from any suspicious media members, that kind of thing

Steve Rogers/Tony Stark: I really liked them during the Avengers. Ships that initially fight but are on the same side are definitely a favorite of mine and I liked how they progressed during that movie. Their ups and downs over the course of the rest were hard but they had some really great moments. I don't blame Steve for not telling Tony about Bucky (it's easy to say Tony wouldn't have killed Bucky while watching afar and be a little more wary when you are in the moment) and I don't blame Tony for being hurt. Both are stubborn and have communication issues for sure but they do have common goals and I'm just a sucker for scenes like Tony giving Steve his shield back in Endgame and Steve being all "I do" when asked if he trusted him. The way they were able to communicate effortlessly despite all that time apart (when communication issues were the problem!) was a delight to see. Plus you know they shared a bed on Clint's farm. I just would prefer that while they work on their issues, I don't want one of them grovelling to the other the entire time.

Prompts:
1. letters/emails/texts that they didn't send when they were apart
2. they reunite sooner in the 5 year gap and work together

Pepper Potts/Natasha Romanov: I liked the interactions and the potential they had to be friends in Iron Man 2. They're both straight forward and no nonsense and I think they would be for a an awesome duo/couple. At the same time, they've lived very different lives- Pepper has been forced into this hero world where Natasha is trying to find some redemption within it. Their differences make them all that more interesting and it is fun to think about how they would blend together.

Prompts:
1. match on a dating app
2. they keep in touch after IM2

North and South:

Margaret Hale/John Thornton: I absolutely love this book and this ship. The misunderstandings, the pining, the slow understanding of one other, a failed proposal- these are all tropes I really enjoy and it was executed in an interesting way, especially with the backdrop of the social issues. I love picturing their lives together, starting with the official engagement and to the wedding and their married lives. Anything set during the book is totally fine too!

Prompts:
1. how they let everyone know they are engaged.
2. letters they wrote to each other during their engagement
3. letters they didn't send after she left

Persuasion:

Anne Elliot/Frederick Wentworth: Persuasion is one of my favorite Austen novels and their story is so full of pain and pining. I really loved Anne and felt for her throughout the course of the story. And pining in general is one of my favorite tropes so it gave that to me in spades. The fact that a letter is a key point to their reunion makes it all that much better. Would love stories set pre-novel, during, or even after. Modern AUs welcome!

Prompts:
1. their courtship prior to breaking up the first time
2. modern AU; how does their lives change
3. letters they never sent
4. letters they do send after their engagement/reunion

Little Women:

fandom dnw: Amy bashing

Josephine "Jo" March & Elizabeth "Beth" March: I loved their relationship and how sweet Beth was. They made an interesting contrast and I was so sad when she died. If you want to go with Beth lives, I am fine with the canon ships (Jo/Bhaer and Amy/Laurie) as long as they're firmly in the background.

Prompts:
1. letters they sent to one another
2. anything with Jo writing her novel and Beth supporting her - maybe she reads her bits and pieces along the way

Theodore "Laurie" Laurence/Josephine "Jo" March: I'm just a sucker for this ship. It was one of my childhood OTPs and every time I watch a new version of Little Women, I end up falling for them once more, despite long knowing how it will end. I like their bickering friendship and how they just have so much fun together. Her being the only one who gets to call him "Teddy" is nice. I respect her decision to say no but I do still like the thought of them finding their way together anyway.

Prompts:
1. they write to each other while they're away and Jo develops actual feelings
2. modern AU: how do they deal with social media

Pride and Prejudice:

Charles Bingley & Fitzwilliam Darcy: Their friendship is so great. They're both wealthy of course but still have different backgrounds and are clearly very different in personality. Yet they get along and Bingley trusts him and Darcy really feels the need to protect him. I would like to see more of their relationship pre, during, or even post book

Prompts:
1. how they became friends- was it after Wickham's betrayal? Was Darcy reluctant to trust anyone?
2. story centered around Darcy convincing Bingley to break it off with Jane
3. letters they've written to one another over the years

Elizabeth Bennet & Jane Bennet: I'm a sucker for loving sister relationships and I like their bond; they clearly again are very different but I like how sweet Jane is and how she balances out Elizabeth, who is much more forward and brash.

Prompts:
1. letters they write each other after their respective marriages
2. any story revolving around their childhood; I can see them forming a secret code (Elizabeth initiating) to keep away from their younger siblings

Elizabeth Bennet/Fitzwilliam Darcy: One of my all time favorite fictional couples. Their clash and the way they both have to overcome their individual issues/stubbornness (he has to grow and change and she sees that and softens) was a fun journey. And the second proposal is something I'm weak for every time. I like them at any point of the novel or afterwards.

Prompts:
1. letters Elizabeth didn't write/send to Darcy and vice versa
2. them writing each other after they're engaged or when they have to be apart during marriage
3. modern AU; they clash on social media and then slowly fall in love

Ted Lasso:

fandom dnw: Sam/Rebecca - either together or acting like Sam was a substitute for Ted/the ship being described "problematic" in any sense, focus on Nate comeuppance (I'm fine with him seeing the error of his ways but I don't want it to be all about other characters lecturing him)

Friendships/Gen: any combo of AFC Richmond players, Ted & Beard, Ted & Roy, Ted & Jamie, Roy Beard, Roy & Jamie, Rebecca & Higgins, Rebecca & Keeley

Keeley Jones/Roy Kent: I just love their relationship on the show. How they came together, and how they communicate (though there are struggles from time to time) and make it over their hurdles and how *into* each other they are. They're really supportive of one another and their dreams and overall, just the best.

Prompts:
1. Roy and Keeley get engaged and are planning a wedding with the whole team (especially Ted and Rebecca) wanting to help
2. Roy was the player Keeley hooked up with when she was 18 and they meet again at Richmond.

Keeley Jones/Roy Kent/Jamie Tartt: I like the potential of these three. Roy and Jamie have come so far, Roy and Keeley are adorable and of course Keeley and Jamie's friendship is great too. Especially during s2. There's a lot of room there for feelings to develop and I could see the three of them in a relationship.

Prompts:
1. Jamie goes on vacation with Roy and they keep in touch with Keeley the entire time
2. AU where Jamie needs a place to stay when he gets back to Richmond and he ends up with Roy - cue lots of frustrated texts between Roy & Keeley and Keeley & Jamie until they all realize there is some feelings and get their act together

Sam Obisanya/Jamie Tartt: The casual way Jamie drapes himself over Sam now and how far they've come really has sold me on the potential of this ship. Jamie really hurt Sam in particular and I think the fact he had to really fight and work to win his forgiveness and trust is appealing. The contrast between their relationship with their fathers is also intriguing.

Prompts:
1. Jamie offers to cover for Sam when he finds out that he is dating Rebecca (while pining); lot of messages trying to coordinate stories, that kind of thing
2. Fake Dating/Everyone thinks they're together-The whole team thinks they're dating and when Jamie's dad gets mad, he doubles down in spite. Sam agrees to go along with it and feelings happen

Ted Lasso/Rebecca Welton: I liked the idea of them in s1 but I really fell for them in s2. They've come along so far and I love how even when they weren't directly interacting, they were in each other's lives, and moments like Rebecca realizing that Ted was having a panic attack or how Ted brought up the memory of Rebecca's dad/was the first one to sing along really stand out to me and show me how in sync they are.

Prompts:
1. trying to date while avoiding the media
2. rumors about them even before they're dating

Star Trek (AOS):

Other Ships I like (for background): Carol Marcus/Bones, Christine Chapel/Bones, Uhura/Bones

Friendships/Gen: Kirk & Bones, any combo of the Enterprise crew, Spock & Amanda

Gaila/Nyota Uhura: I liked both characters in XI and I thought their friendship was cute and could really see them as a ship too. Their personalities are very different, and that contrast is always interesting to me. I wish we could've seen more of Gaila in general.

Prompts:
1. they get into a FWB/secret relationship and even though they are roommates, they sneak around
2. Nyota hears Gaila is dead, spends a lot of time mourning (via letters/holo vids she never sends, that kind of thing and they're reunited - fine with a get together fic or that they were together before she seemingly died

James T. Kirk & Winona Kirk: We didn't see much of their relationship on screen and I would love to read about the missing parts, without completely demonizing Winona.

Prompts:
1. How they kept in touch with Jim was a kid or how they keep in touch when he is an adult
2. she hears that he is dead and they have a reunion post-ID

James T. Kirk/Spock: I liked how they butted heads and then had to work together (frenemies to lovers!!!) and how they grew to rely on each other over the course of the movies.

Prompts:
1. childhood friends AU where they meet as kids because Winona and Amanda are friends and keep in touch over the years
2. Jim keeps either a private online diary or a real one, where he reveals his feelings about Spock and then Spock suddenly comes across it by accident
