That's so true and I like how they didn't try to pretend that they were perfect. With Dean, it felt like everyone was trying to convince us that he was the best most perfect boyfriend and I could see differently. On the other side, he characters were openly against Jess and you could see that he was a good guy underneath it all. But you're right about everything being against them, which does make it interesting. I do think ASP wasn't very good at writing established relationships for long periods of time, adding to their troubles.
