I really think it was more of ASP deciding that all characters turn into their parents.
Hard agree. It was an interesting "it all comes full circle" concept, but very un-Gilmore Girls. Gilmore Girls was supposed to be comfy, unserious fun with flecks of serious mixed in, and all these bittersweet and unfortunately realistic endings kinda stole the magic from that.
