I think it's a social media thing- people used to share experiences but now social media has come along, many of them expect to have a platform to talk about themselves and no one is allowed to talk about anything else. I see so many people trying desperately to get 1000s of followers so they can lecture them. That's not me at all, I like a small group of friends I can get to know well.
