Day 8: Crack!fic - We all know it. What's your opinion of it, and if you want, show us an example.

I'm fine with it. Crack!fic can for sure be amusing, when I'm in the right mood for it, but it can be too out there, and honestly, I get second hand embarrassment pretty easily. Probably a lower tolerance for that kind of story, so it's not really the type of fic I read or write. I might give it a chance if the summary sounds intriguing, but overall, probably not.

It is funny since I did enjoy some ridiculous plots Smallville had to offer (Dawn body possession in Spirit comes to mind and even the drunken shenanigans in Fortune), which could be seen as crack, so I'm not opposed it to completely so I wouldn't call myself an anti either.

The only crack fic I toyed with writing was a small ficlet where Lois, Chloe and the League team up to get rid of Clark's red jacket but I never did finish it. Oh well. Too many ideas and not enough time or motivation has always been my problem. XD

I will never understand how Tom was fine wearing that ridiculous red jacket for eight seasons, but yet the Superman costume was too much, lol.

Well, the jacket is just ugly, but I'm guessing it is probably more comfortable than the Superman costume lol And I feel like it really got more traction between starting s4. I remember his wardrobe the first few years was more varied.

Yeah, once he learned more about his origins they came up with that red jacket, blue shirt/blue jacket and red shirt combo to be the defacto costume. I guess they thought a yellow jacket might have been too out there. :P

In the earlier seasons he dressed normally. There was still a lot of red and blue, but not all solid colours. And I think he did wear a yellow shirt at one point, lol.

Yeah, the yellow would have been a little too much and obviously people don't think about it as much as they do the red and blue. Though once or twice they put Lois in yellow or had her in either blue while Clark wore red. Not subtle but I enjoyed it at the time.

For the most part, he did dress like a high schooler. T-shirts, sweaters, etc. And yeah, I remember the yellow shirt. I think it was in the episode he got the x-ray vision? So rare that it is easy for it to stand out.

Lol, I didn't even notice the colour coordinated outfits until it was pointed out. Lana was in baby blues and pinks, until they made her character ambiguous and put her in black or white. Definitely not subtle.

It was much worse with Lois, lol, although remember that weird green jacket, yellow shirt combo she was wearing for her date with that serial killer dude? So bad! Although, the deleted scene where Martha helps her out before the date was pretty sweet.

The first time I noticed was in Aqua, at the end, after he comforts her over AC and I was like "OH hey". Obviously they did it before that and of course after. For sure, Smallville and subtlety did not exactly go hand in hand. They loved their anvils and well, it was all we got in those years.

Oh man, I didn't. Her wardrobe definitely improved with time. I haven't actually seen that particular deleted scene! I should look it up because I always loved Lois and Martha's relationship.

Yes, that was probably the most blatant colour matching they did! I love that scene. Especially the hand on the shoulder (and how that came full circle with the reveal!). I really liked all of the anvils, especially the Clois ones. I think Smallville was its best when it embraced the mythos in its own way, heavy handed anvils and all.

They had such a great relationship and I wish we could have seen more. They sidelined both of them in season 6 in favour of the Lex/Lana/Clark triangle which was annoying. And while we got some Clois scenes, again, it wasn't much either. Thank God for seasons 8-10, lol.

For sure. Also that scene where Lois is leaving in s4, where she is wearing yellow and Clark is in red and blue. It's funny because that was technically supposed to be her last appearance, which is telling on why they dressed them like that. And I love that scene too. They had a lot of soft moments in s4 and s5. Good point on the hand on the shoulder! I doubt in the long term that was intentional but it did work out well and is a fitting coincidence.

True. Definitely agree with this.

For sure. It is a shame that they didn't know what to do with Martha. The first half of s6 where it seemed like they were getting Clark to move on, especially in Hydro and then they did some major regression. I'm convinced they keep Clois apart as to not remind people how much better they look in comparison to Clana's dysfunction, especially when it is the latter they're trying to promote.

Thank God for seasons 8-10, lol.

Oh, my goodness, yes! Though I don't usually lack the motivation, I always lack the time, and I have waaaay too many ideas! lol

Haha I understand! I am definitely lazy though so it's a problem. XD But there also never seems to be enough time! I finally started writing my ideas down in one place so I don't lose them.
