Day 17: Do you prefer art, fic, or vids? Why? Bonus: If someone was to give you a fandom gift, what format would it be?

I really love all of them to be honest. I never learned to vid and I have zero graphic skills so I only write fic, but I appreciate all means of fandom expression, especially the ones I truly cannot do. Fic is probably the one I like the most, just because I love reading fic, and there really is a good feeling about going back and reading your fave fics to cheer you up when you're down. Though I've also done that with fanvids too. Fic is more readily accessible and I don't need to grab my headphones or worry about who is around me.

If someone gave me a fandom gift, I would be happy no matter what it was. I get giddy with anything but yes, again, art and fanvids would probably be extra special. Someone once made me a Clark/Oliver fanvid for my birthday to the song I most associate with them and I legit almost cried. Still mad at myself for not downloading it because it's long gone.

Vidding is one of those things that makes sense and doesn't at the same time, lol, but there are some immensely talented people out there.

Like you, I probably prefer fic! Both writing and reading it. There's definitely more variety and you can relax into a story more than anything else.

I don't I watch fanvids that much anymore, but every so often, I crank up my software and spend hours (months?) making one. It's weirdly relaxing to work out what scene goes where, etc. It is a frustrating process, though. Sucks that you lost the Clark/Oliver one someone made for you! :(

True! The things people can do with editing is really impressive. There's always a bunch of songs I associate with ships (I made like three fanmixes for Clois alone lol) but I can never bring myself to learn. I still remember seeing a vid with "Breathe Again" for Clois before the finale and then it got used and I was like "OH!"

For sure. And you can take more time enjoying it as well.

It's really cool that you make them. And I can only imagine that it can be frustrating but it is nice that it is also relaxing too.
