Weekends were Oliver’s favorite part of the week.

Which was a fairly new development in his life.

In the past, at least after he had gotten his life together anyway, weekends weren’t special; he was an early riser by nature and necessity and just because he wasn’t in the office didn’t mean he wasn’t busy. Or found ways to be busy.

It was better than being alone, better than waking up to either an empty bed, or sharing it with someone who wasn’t going to stick around, someone with whom he had a clear expiration date.

Someone who would leave. Who he would leave.

These days, he would wake up, and turn to see not one, but two people who had made it clear that they weren’t going anywhere. Made him not want to go anywhere.
