No problem! There is definitely more out there but I just go with a select few that I also want to keep track of and you're right- tons to sign up for during this time. How to narrow it down and be realistic of what I can actually accomplish is the hard part lol

1. how I feel about this character:
I absolutely love him. I always liked him but oddly enough, when people started hating on him after CW, I somehow loved him more and went from liking him to feeling oddly protective. He's kind but doesn't take anyone's nonsense. Stubborn, always tries to do the right thing, is snarky, and carries a lot of pain. Evans really had a way of showing Steve's sad smile in the present, which I appreciated even when it broke my heart.

2. all the people I ship romantically and/or sexually with this character
Peggy and Tony. I'm pretty picky.

3. favourite gen relationship(s) for this character
Sam or Natasha. I just love how he had those two and how they both saw him. I like his friendship with Bucky too but not as much as the other two.

4. my unpopular opinion about this character
I get why he didn't tell Tony about what Bucky did and I don't blame him for defending Bucky in the fight. It's easy to say that Tony wouldn't have killed him but in the moment, you just don't know. And I don't hate his Endgame ending either. I understand why people were disappointed but I didn't find it all that surprising. I ship Steve/Peggy of course but even if I hadn't, I think I'd get it. Just like I would've been fine if he ended up with Sharon (I assumed he would when she was introduced in TWS) if they had gone that route despite not shipping it.

5. one thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon
I would've to see him really adjust to the present instead of just feeling like he is floating/stuck there. But I think that was part of the decisions made with his character arc. Also I wish he and Tony had a better, more consistent relationship.

6. random pet theory about this character that you won't convince me is not true
He wouldn't have gone back if he hadn't seen his picture in Peggy's office and the fact she didn't seem to be wearing a wedding ring. Also, he was upfront with her the second he got back and she interrogated him like hell before accepting him.

7. a song or piece of music I associate with this character
I don't know if I have a definite Steve Song, but "The Good Soldier" by Nine Inch Nails fits him pretty well

1. how I feel about this character
I have a lot of complicated feelings on Lex. I really find his character interesting and Michael Rosenbaum did an excellent job with the role- honestly he is my Lex, accept no substitutes. He is a very layered and complex character and I do like him a lot. He's smart and capable and has shown that he wanted to be good but it is interesting how his own personality traits were his downfall- his obsession and eventual need for power ruined him.

2. all the people I ship romantically and/or sexually with this character
Chloe and Lana. Once I realized that Chloe/Lex was something people shipped, I found it intriguing and I thought Lex/Lana was far more interesting than Clana.

3. favourite gen relationship(s) for this character
Clark. I shipped it in the early years and even up to s6 but then I stopped. Those two had great chemistry and I don't blame fans for wishing their friendship worked out.

4. my unpopular opinion about this character
He didn't have a right to Clark's secret and he is not just some giant woobie. Lionel was a terrible parent but that doesn't excuse some of his behavior and Clark was supposed to be 14/15 in s1 while Lex was 21 which to me, makes some of his mistakes more understandable. Now that I'm way past both those ages, Lex was young too but yeah, it is still a power difference which probably would've been highlighted had they cast someone age appropriate.

5. one thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon
He didn't die in 8.14 "Requiem". The whole clone plotline was so dumb and it really erases the connection that Clark has with Lex which influences their future interactions. I just pretend that he faked his death and went into hiding until he was ready to show up in the finale. Also it doesn't make any sense that he orchestrated Lana being pregnant when he looked really shocked when she admitted it. I wish his and Clark's relationship fallout hadn't seem to come down to Lana in s7. They had real issues that could not and should not been handwaved by that dumb triangle.

6. random pet theory about this character that you won't convince me is not true
Strongly am going to believe he faked his death so he could get Oliver and Lana off his back.

7. a song or piece of music I associate with this character
Probably "The Prayer" by Mans Zelmerlow. The lyrics really fit Lex and his journey.

Really worked for me. And there is a referenced part about a boy he used to know which I always that could work for Clark or for Alexander, his younger self who had more hope.

You're quite right about the age difference thing. I tend to forget that Clark, Chloe, Lana, etc. were meant to be so young when the series started - of course, none of them really looked that young, especially Tom W.

Lex died in Season 8? Huh. I stopped watching at the end of Season 7 (when MR left) and then just watched the series finale to see how it ended. Since Lex was in said finale, I had no idea he died. Who was that then, a clone? I did see some of the cloning stuff, so that must've started before I stopped watching. I don't think I realised how far they went with it!

I don't know that song, but the lyrics you quoted certainly fit :)

True! I think that means they did their job, for the most part. Some people just defend him to death though and think that he didn't do anything wrong and that take used to be pretty annoying but I think most have more nuanced opinions. I shipped Chloe/Lex a little bit- I read a few fics but I was never a major shipper. I was much more a Chloe/Oliver fan back then. :D

Totally fair. I know someone else who stopped writing Chloe/Oliver fics, because of what AM did and she was a major shipper/Chloe fan.

The age thing is easy to forget with the casting, especially Welling. He looked so close to MR, physically, that you don't think about it. I was the same age they were back then and as much as I loved Clark, I remember I used to get very impatient with him but only much later did I realize "oh, he was only supposed to be 21/22 in s7- no wonder he didn't know what the hell he was doing!"

Yeah, Oliver murdered Lex in the middle of s8. Well whatever Lex stand in they had because it obviously wasn't MR. It was a clone. So there was this episode in s10 where Clark ends up in an alternate universe where he was adopted by the Luthors and then by the time he escapes that version of Lionel who is still alive ends up coming back with him and he created some Lex clone. It's all nuts and I apologize if I confused you further but I can't remember all the details.

It is probably not a well known song- I don't know how I found it anymore, because it is not my style of music either. Likely through a fanvid!
