I snagged this from sodium_amytal and the original post that inspired it by snickfic is here.

Do you all have That One Fic in a fandom that you started writing and still wish you could finish, even if you're no longer in the fandom? Or a fic that you feel like you have to finish before you can leave the fandom?

Uh, yes, where do I even begin? I have a bunch of fics saved on Word that I started and never looked back on. Not to add all the ones that just have a summary because I have ideas that never went anywhere. There are fics I started on a whim, like this Clois fic that I only tried to write because I wanted to use the title "The Love Life of Lois Lane". It had one chapter and it wasn't good. Priorities. Mine are top notch.

1. My Excelsior AU- I signed up for WIP Big Bang using this as one so I'm hoping I will finally get to knock it off after originally starting it over ... 14 years ago. Wow. Well, in my defense, I was not in fandom for 8 of those. Or that is what I tell myself lol I think if I don't finish it it will always haunt me.

2. "I'll See You in My Dreams"- a Clark/Oliver fic that I wrote where Clark disappears and Oliver is the only one who remembers him. I wrote two chapters but I don't remember where I was going with it.

3. I wrote about 10k of this Charles/Erik amnesia fic for some challenge but I never finished it and I was never really in the fandom, but I do love amnesia stories so it's a shame it never got close to completed.

There's also a ton of ideas I would like to write before I leave fandom, but that depends on my time management and creativity. Always questionable. :D

Titles are absolutely the worst! I mostly use song lyrics or if I can't think of any ones that work, a line or a theme from the story. Most of the time, I save that for last. And I totally just was like "ooh, fun title!" Possibly! It was basically about Lois's unfortunate love life but it ended up being a canon rehash in the beginning that never went anywhere.

It's Smallville (most of the time, it's Smallville lmao) and Clark/Oliver. If you haven't seen the show, Excelsior is the canon boarding school that Oliver and Lex went to pre-canon. I deaged them and had Clark transfer in. Basically one of those "popular asshole makes a bet to hook up with the new kid" type thing.

I hope working on it for WIP Big Bang helps you complete it at last! (or at least revisit and make some progress on it!)
Thank you! I actually have an outline for this one, which makes it different than all my other tragic WIPs so in theory, it should work out at some point. In theory. XD

If you haven't seen the show, Excelsior is the canon boarding school that Oliver and Lex went to pre-canon. Ah! I only know the show through fannish osmosis, so hadn't picked up what Excelsior meant. XD That sounds very tropey and fun. :D

Totally fair! I don't think they brought up the school till s6, after they introduced Oliver Queen, because well, Oliver (and his friends) bullied Lex (Luthor) when they were younger so there were all these flashbacks. I think I've been calling it the Excelsior AU in my head for so long that it is how I automatically think of it as when really 'boarding school AU' would make more sense. And I was fond of it, though my writing style has slightly changed. I'll adapt. :D

Okay, I'm totally stealing this because I actually went back to a Fringe fic I started ten years ago, abandoned, wrote a prequel chapter in 2014, and now revisiting!
