senmut is doing Tax Day Commissions, if you have an extra $5-10 and would like them to write you a fic.

sweetandshort is a prompt based community where you create smaller fanworks (ex: fics are max 300w).

womansplace has extended sign-ups for their vid exchange celebrating characters who either identify as women or are aligned with womanhood until February 25th.

unsent_letters_exchange, an epistolary fic exchange, is open for nominations until February 25th, 11:59PM UTC.

the_mane_event, a multifandom exchange for everything hair related, is accepting sign-ups until February 27th, 11:59PM UTC.

bethefirst, a fest dedicated to writing fic for a fandom that previously had none, is open for sign-ups. You have until April 20th, 11:59PM GMT to submit your stories and they will go live on April 22nd and you can submit up to 4 stories, as long as they are for different fandoms.

crackthewip, a multifandom challenge to finish your WIPs, is now open for sign-ups. All works must be completed and posted to the AO3 collection before or during May 1st-7th.

I think promo posts are such a great thing to do as, speaking for myself at least, it's really easy to lose track of how many people are new to DW and don't realize how many challenges and exchanges go on here.

Under a friend's post, someone mentioned they'd love to have a multifandom drabble challenge and I replied with the names of several of them that exist already.

Oh yeah, there is so much going on at any given time that it can be hard for anyone to keep up, especially since there is no guarantee it will be promoted outside the community or AO3. I partly make the posts for me too, so I can remember what is happening! :D

That's a great example. It's nice that you saw it and were able to chime in.

I do follow a lot of the communities once I get interested in an exchange, but there are places like fandomcalendar, fandom_on_dw and potterfests where people promote their stuff. Or I might see it on Discord or another friend's posts. There are a couple I follow that also promote communities/events too which helps me find things I wouldn't have otherwise. :D
