Challenge #4: Since this is the start of a new year, this challenge will be to set your own goals!
I looked over the goals I set from last year to see where I was and then set them accordingly. A lot of repeats, but some amendments too. :)
Fannish:Write fanfic again and find joy/inspiration in doing so. Last year, I wanted to participate in less exchanges and write for myself more and I ended up doing way less exchanges, but that was because I just wasn't inspired at all/slightly becoming detached from fandom. So I'm hoping this year will be more positive
Complete my ficcish obligations - there are some way overdue ones that haunt me and I would like to actually get them out of my head.
Try to write for a new fandom. I think I would like the challenge.
Be more present and active, in both my DW and in my chosen fandom spaces. I think I get tied up to one spot (I drifted off to Tumblr for a brief period) and forget about the rest and I would like some balance.
Non-Fandom:
Travel. I said this last year too, but somehow it got away from me. This year, I would like to get out of my city and preferably the state.
Get organized. Another repeated goal. I have finally started parting ways with clothes and things i don't use, and I need to continue with that.
Be a better cook. I love to bake and I do enjoy cooking what I know, but I want to try new recipes. My mom is a great cook and I need to take advantage of that and have her teach me, especially my favorite foods that she makes.
Learn a new skill. I tend to get stagnant and comfortable and I'm pretty bad about being ... bad at things/not good immediately. I'd like to test my comfort zone.
Exercise consistently. I go through periods when I'm good and then weeks where I just fall off and I want to stay active on a regular basis in some way, even if that means just taking walks around the neighborhood.

Date: 2025-01-17 08:14 pm (UTC)It's just nice to maintain consistency and I'm hoping I can reach that stage soon.

Literally me. I've decided that this is the year I don't care if I suck at things.

Date: 2025-01-27 06:52 pm (UTC)It definitely does. And way less stressful.

Date: 2025-02-25 12:29 am (UTC)That's a good thing to remind yourself of for sure. :)

Date: 2025-02-25 01:38 pm (UTC)We need to take care of our precious imaginations and brains don't we. I'd be lost if I couldn't create stories.

Date: 2025-01-07 10:32 pm (UTC)A dear friend gave me a coffee mug with that on several years ago and now I'll pretty much give anything that looks interesting a whack!

Date: 2025-01-07 11:02 pm (UTC)Huh. Now that I’ve thought of it, I should probably try this. 😅 Yay for causing collateral thinking!

Date: 2025-01-08 12:52 am (UTC)Relax, go with the flow, and you'll be amazed how things will work out. In 2024 I wrote very little fannish stuff in the first six months, watched an old show that was new to me, started writing like crazy in the second half. ☺️
Tackling a new fandom is an excellent idea. 👍

Date: 2025-01-17 08:42 pm (UTC)Thank you for the advice! I know you're right and it's good that you managed to find some inspiration in the second half of the year.
I'm hoping if I let myself get into a new fandom, it will give me that spark too. And maybe reignite my love for the old ones. :D

Date: 2025-01-10 03:34 am (UTC)I love including "learn a new skill" as a goal! It's hard to be in that learning/things not coming out how they are in your head place. But it's so cool to try new things, or let yourself just do something different.
Good luck! ♥

Date: 2025-01-17 10:26 pm (UTC)Thanks! I have trouble trying new things, because of being afraid to fail, but I want to work on that.
Thank you! ♥ :D
