I found this via [personal profile] queenslayerbee. :)

1) First time you encoutered canon femslash
I want to say Carol and Susan from 'Friends'. I know they were minor characters at best, but that's the first one I remember anyway.

2) First times you encountered femslash shipping
When I was 13 and got into Sailor Moon fanfiction.

3) Is femslash the main part of your fandom life?
Not so much. I came into fandom as a slash shipper and I have a lot of het ships too. Of course I have a bunch of f/f ships as well and I do run a femslash exchange ([community profile] rarefemslashexchange) so it's definitely a part of it. But I've not written or read as much as I would like to.

4) Have you already started a canon just because you knew there would be femslash shipping opportunities?
No, only because I don't watch canons for any potential ships. I like to go in and discover what appeals to me more naturally, though I do appreciate it when the canon has diversity.

5) Canon, subtext, or make-everything-work-by-yourself ships?
All three! A lot of my stronger OTPs do tend to fall into 'make everything work', but I do have a couple that were canon as well, even if they didn't end up together.

6) A femslash ship you feel like you're alone in shipping
Probably Brooke Davis/Lindsey Strauss from One Tree Hill. Admittedly, I ditched the show after season 4 and only watched parts of s5. While I have f/f ships I love more (Brooke/Peyton and Brooke/Rachel), something about the instant chemistry when they first met, with Brooke jumping into bed to scare who she thought was Lucas and then Lindsey immediately showing appreciation for her got to me. Also they both were put in a similar situation by being the losing angle to Lucas/Peyton. It just stayed with me.

7) Did you see a change in femslash fandom since the time you started fandom?
It's relative but there's definitely more canons where the f/f ship is the most popular. Obviously, overall, they are still behind, but back when I first started fandom, I remember mostly knowing about Xena and then maybe Andy/Miranda from The Devil Wears Prada. Of course fandoms like HP were so huge that of course there was the Hermione/Ginny or Ginny/Luna type shipping that, it felt like they were distantly behind the Harry/Dracos or Harry/Hermiones or the the Remus/Sirius of the fandom atmosphere.

Of course in big fandoms, you have to filter carefully because there are f/f ships that just get tagged and thrown in the background in m/m fics, but I still feel like there is more variety than there used to be (and I'm grateful for AO3 having as many filtering options as they do, including the 'otp:true' one).

8) Some femslash poly ships? What are your opinions about f/f/m poly?
I tend to be pickier when it comes to poly ships, just because I need to like all the ships individually and there always ends up being one side I'm just not a fan of. I have no problems with f/f/m ships and there's a couple I like in theory but don't go actively seeking out or shipping. The few poly ships I have tend to be f/m/m.

9) Do you feel like shipping femslash is different from shipping slash, het or other? How?
Most f/f ships tend to be smaller than the m/m or m/f counterparts in their respective fandoms, but I came into fandom shipping and writing for a ship that had, like, about ten fics total. But it is something you do have to get used to.

10) Favourites tropes for femslash ships?
My favorite tropes are mostly generic and not specific to a type of ship. I still like the relationships that initially antagonistic and then they become friends to something more.

11) Fluff, humor, angst, or smut?
I love reading all of them, but I tend to write fluff or angst with a happy ending.

12) Are there some m/m or m/f ships that you love genderswapped as f/f?
I don't really read genderswapping fics in general. There are some possibilities that intrigue me (like a f/f version of Clark/Lois) but I never prefer them to their original version.

13) Did you already write original femslash? If so, what was it about? If not, what would it be about if you did? If you would never, why?
I don't write original works period. When I write, I just want to be chill and write about my established favorites and haven't really had the interest/willpower to create new ones. When I first started writing, I used to write original works that I would pretend could be Bollywood movies and cast them and everything but that was a long time ago.

14) Favorite femslash ship of all times
I don't know if I can pick one. Probably either Bianca/Maggie from All My Children because it was first or Rory/Paris from Gilmore Girls.

15) A guilty pleasure
Can't think of one.

16) A fandom where I have so many femslash ships
Either Smallville or One Tree Hill

17) A femslash pairing I like on principle without even being in the fandom
I've never watched a single episode of Supergirl, but I do like Kara/Lena from the gifs.

18) A character I headcanon as lesbian/wlw without having big ships with her
I can't think of one off the top of my head. I either tend to headcanon characters as bisexual and/or have ships with them. Maybe Jo March from Little Women? It actually is a conflict with my shipping but I could really see that for her, especially if you go with a modern version.

19) Rec day! Canon or fics, as long as it's femslash! Or even shippable!
I enjoyed both the original Carmilla and the web series, which is on Youtube.

Fics:
root out the wine-dark honeyed center by [archiveofourown.org profile] celaenos (elementary, joan/jamie, teen, 7.8k)
a story of poison, amnesia, sexual tension, and marriage

Of the Devil's Party by [archiveofourown.org profile] mermaiddrunk (elementary, joan/jamie, mature, 52.9k)
Twelve weeks after the Kayden Fuller incident, Jamie Moriarty is granted a full acquittal, quietly and without fuss. That's when the letters begin to arrive -letters addressed to one Joan Watson.

Invitations by [archiveofourown.org profile] clio_jlh (mcu, pepper/natasha, explicit, 8.6k)
Someone is stealing Stark Tech and using it to fight the Avengers, which offends Pepper on every level. So when Phil asks her to team up with Natasha to root out the traitor she's more than happy to—even if it means reopening some old and not-so-old wounds.

The Fire Is Coming by [archiveofourown.org profile] a_pious_cruelty (mcu, peggy/natasha, mature, 12.2k)
AU where Peggy Carter became the Winter Soldier.

white blank page. by [archiveofourown.org profile] antisocialgod (carmilla web series, carmilla/laura, mature, 183k)
Laura's mother leaves and Laura has to deal with the fact that she's unwanted. (this one is in second person POV if that isn't your thing)

20) Do you like your femslash homophobia-free?
Depends. In canon, I can handle the characters going through struggles, but when it comes to fic, I'd say 'yes'.

21) Thoughts about lesbian tragedy and bad endings?
Neither are things that I'm into, but tragedy and bad endings are generally a part of all types of fiction and people should write what appeals/inspires/speaks to them.

22) Thoughts about (purely fictional!) lesbian unhealthy relationships?
Again not something I gravitate toward, but everyone should do them! I'm not here for purity wars or antis.

23) Historical, fantasy or sci-fi? (or, if none of the above, what and why?)
All of them. I do want to read more f/f in all categories. I haven't done much so far. I was getting into The Jasmine Throne by Tasha Suri, but I had to return it before I was done and I haven't had the chance to check it out again yet. I find sci-fi a little heavy, and it takes me longer than other genres.

24) A time where a canon really surprised you, in a good (and femslash) way
I am not into vampires but I gave Carmilla a shot anyway and I really loved it.

25) A time where a canon really disappointed you (in a femslash or lack of femslash way)
Probably too many times to count.

26) What do you love the most, and what do you love the least, about femslash fans?
I like the enthusiasm and passion, but I think I agree with [personal profile] queenslayerbee with the bigger fandoms/ships just being proof that no fanbase is really less dramatic than any other one.

27) Very last time you encountered canon femslash. Was it a surprise or were you looking for it?
My current fandom/show is 9-1-1, and I knew about Hen/Karen, the married couples, so I expected it, even though I didn't start watching it for them specifically.

28) Now answer the important question about femslash I've forgotten to ask.
All the questions have been asked! Okay, a couple of fics I have wanted to write and haven't gotten around to, just so I can put my thoughts in order:
1. Lois/Lana (Smallville) Hallmark AU - Lana is in Smallville to temporarily run her aunt's flower shop while she's injured (it's so funny that the small town and that is canon) and Lois has been invited by Clark to spend Christmas with their family. Of course they meet and hit it off. It's one of those "Lana is the jet setting type not looking to stay" and Lois is the one who always wanted someone to stick around.
2. Lois/Lana - what if Lana met Lois in Paris instead of Jason?
3. Rory/Paris (Gilmore Girls) - either a role reversal AU or a 'what if Rory grew up in Hartford and they were friends/rivals from the beginning'

Yeah, sometimes annoying to see femslash always as background. When I search 'Natasha/Pepper' in AO3 I rarely find fics focused on them. That's why I like to write my series focusing on those two! ☺️

You can say that again!

The "otp:true" filter is SO key for a lot of femslash ships!

It was fun to read your answers! Susan/Carol is definitely an early example of canon femslash for me too.

Re: 28: good luck with your fic ideas! \o/
