Fake dating is always so good! So, set in s5 of Smallville where while Jonathan Kent is running his campaign there are tabloid rumors that he and Lois are having an affair. Clark loses his cool with a reporter and claims that he's the one dating Lois (he's not) and then they end up going along with it. NGL this was supposed to be, like 15k max and now it's 30k and not done yet.

Snippet:

Feeling slightly more confident, he walked toward the door, only to run into Lois.
“Lois? I thought you were heading to the house.”
Lois was chewing on her bottom lip, seeming conflicted but determined. “Yeah, change of plans. How good is your acting? I hope you’re improved since we last needed you to pretend.”
“Excuse me?” Clark wasn’t sure what she was planning or meant.
“You’re the one who suggested that we act like we’re dating,” Lois reminded him.
“And you said … no,” Clark replied, bewildered. “A pretty firm no.”
She tossed her head. “Well, I’ve changed my mind. Like you said, we can pretend for a bit, at least until the election is over and then we’ll never mention it again. Ever.” She stared at him. “Okay?”
What could he do but agree? “Okay, deal.”
“Now, let’s work out how this is all going to go down,” Lois said. “First, we need a cover story … time to make use of those creative writing courses, Smallville.”
And Clark was suddenly wondering what he had gotten himself into.

Aaah this looks fun!! 😍 Such a fun premise and quick decision in dialogue, and 30k words later still not done with it, haha. Good luck!!

Basically this is just a wildly indulgent, kinda, definitely ooc fic that I couldn't get out of my head. So post tuna melt, Ilya starts randomly posting sad Russian love poetry on Twitter and everyone is like "???" Then post Rose breakup but pre-All Stars reunion, Shane begins to post his own quotes. I just wanted to get to the point where I can use the Persuasion quote.

Snippet:

The first few times, no one noticed. Well, almost no one noticed. After all, it was spaced in between Rozanov's usual tweets. Only his hardcore fans started asking questions immediately.

Well, his hardcore fans and Shane.

Shane, who had an amazing girlfriend and should definitely not been paying attention to Ilya Rozanov's social media antics. It was none of his business.

It was not his problem.

He didn't care.

(And if he said it enough times, maybe he'll believe it)

Oo incredible premise. Of COURSE Shane would stalk monitor Ilya on social media :D And Shane + denial is such a classic combo.
