Summary: Peyton says no to Lucas's proposal, but she finds where she was meant to be all along.

Up until the moment she said “no”, Peyton had always imagined she’d say yes.

She was in love, he was the guy she had always wanted, but when he got on one knee, she didn’t even look at the ring before giving her answer.

Peyton wasn’t sure which one of them was more surprised. Because hadn’t this been what she wanted? The two of them were supposed to live happily ever after, weren’t they? They had gotten their act together, and were in love, even with the long distance, no obstacles in the way … why shouldn't it work?

Why shouldn’t she say “yes”?

Yet she couldn’t do it. She wanted to date him, but marriage? Marriage was off the table, at least for now.

And he didn’t want to wait. Her love alone wasn’t enough. Then again, it seemed it never had been, and wasn’t that what she had been afraid of all along?

That she wasn’t enough.

That everyone would leave.

Hello, my dear flist! I was hoping I could get some help from any of you that watch or have watched One Tree Hill.

Here's the deal: I'm writing a Jake/Peyton fic, starting post Leyton breakup. However, I've only seen up to season 4 and I've only seen some clips from s5/6 so I don't really know/remember what happened. I tried to look it up but I ended up getting confused.

So, can someone answer these questions?

1. Where did Lucas and Peyton end up going after they graduated?
2. When exactly did Lucas propose? And did they break up right after or was it later? Did they officially break up or was it just assumed after Peyton turned down Lucas's proposal?
3. When/how did Peyton get her internship? Did she already have it by the time Lucas proposed?

Anyway, you get the gist of it. I'm just trying to find a timeline and get my facts straight.

Any help you could give me would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
