Hey flist! Sorry I've been so quiet lately. I had finals this week but I'm done now! Yay! I'm on summer vacation ... at least for the next 3 weeks. Then I start my internship. Oh well, I'll enjoy it while I can. :D

Okay, I promise I will have a longer update soon but right now, I need your help. Especially from the parts of my flist that are DC Comic readers!

For the scifibigbang, I'm writing a Clark/Ollie fic, where Krypton still exists (yes, I was going to do it for another big bang but it didn't work out so I'm using the same plot for this one) and I kind of need your help. I am not sure what the comics tell you on Krypton but I was hoping the DCU fans on my flist could give me some info. I found out some stuff through Google but not enough. Since part of the story will take place on the planet itself, I want to get my facts right.

So if there are any details on how they live, etc, I would really appreciate it.

Ooh, Kal-El and Ollie on Krypton! Hmm, I'm no Superman expert but I can try to help. Since this is SV fic, as long as you don't contradict SV canon, I think you can pick and choose different elements of comics canon and develop a "customized" Krypton for your setting. Do you want Krypton to seem very alien? Do you want the Kryptonians to seem cold and hostile and unsympathetic, to emphasise an "us vs. them" mentality? Or are they just regular people, perhaps misguided, a technologically advanced race but with the same kind of family/friendship bonds we see in the Kents? I don't know if you've ever seen the Bruce Timm Superman cartoon, but I love his version of Jor-El and Lara. They're "my" House of El. (Which is why the Fortress on SV is so frustrating.)

Yeah, that's a good point. I was just more thinking of their culture, etc. And yeah, I was hoping to make them seem like a technologically advanced race but still having good friendship/family bonds. Of course there will be some people who don't like humans (for conflict's sake) but nothing other than that.

I don't think so? I saw some Superman cartoon when I was younger but I am not sure which one. And honestly, the Fortress is frustrating period. It's manipulative, emotionally and sometimes physically abusive. I didn't blame Clark one bit for not trust it. I hoping it would redeem itself but it kept annoying me. At least it was okay in the finale but I wanted to see that a lot earlier. :\
