Finally got to the last set! :D

31. Do you take liberties with canon or are you very strict about your fic being canon compliant?
Depends on the canon/ship. I think I've done both. Unless it is an AU, I try to do my best to stay canon compliant unless the canon conflicts with what I want to do. For instance, with Clark/Oliver, I very much handwave things if I want it to be set in s8 or later or in other canons, just because I hate breaking up Clark/Lois. I am not going to rewatch the whole canon so there's obviously going to be things I have forgotten so nothing will ever be perfect and I'm fine with that.

21. How many times do you usually revise your fic/chapter before posting?
At least a couple. It really depends how long it is. Usually, I'm editing and going back and rereading while I'm writing. Most of my edits are grammatical ones, though I will reword a sentence or add in a few lines if I think it will improve a scene.

11. Is writing your passion or just a fun hobby?
Probably a fun hobby. Not that I don't love it and have been doing some version of it since I was a kid, but I am not sure if I would consider it my passion. Or maybe somewhere in between.

12. Is there an episode above all others that inspires you just a little bit more?
Not anymore. There are certain seasons of Smallville that inspire me more than others, depending on the ship I'm writing. s8-10 of Smallville is probably what pushes me the most though I used to write a lot of s6 when the show was still airing.

6. Share one of your weaknesses.
Definitely describing the scene. I tend to get focused on characters and dialogue and I struggle with going into detail on the background/location. I can't always picture it easily in my head or come up with the right words without taking away from the rest of the moment. And action scenes! I never know how to make fights sound cool and natural.

I snagged it from [personal profile] brokenhighways. Original list of 40 questions is from [livejournal.com profile] 1_million_words here.

1. Describe your comfort zone—a typical you-fic.
Something pretty light and fluffy, with mild angst. Usually very relationship focused, romantic in the spotlight but making sure to highlight some friendships as well. When I began writing, I used to be a lot more melodramatic, in the style of soap operas and older Bollywood movies. There's less crying these days and I *try* to make them act like the adults they usually are, though I won't hesitate to still lean into some communication issues. :D
